Large Bi-Level 2BR Loft | Old City | Sleeps 8 (4F)

We had a great time in Philly. The location is walkable to major attractions, and it truly felt like home with amenities like a washer/dryer and a fully equipped kitchen. The key lockbox presented an Escape Room experience during check-in, taking a bit of time to get it open, but check-out was smooth. There are so many great options nearby—breakfast spots, juice bars, grocery stores, and happy hour bars and restaurants. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wished we could stay longer.

I should have just booked two hote rooms on the downtown area. Positive: Location was perfect. Walkable to all the major tourist attractions. Negative: It is on a busy street and the windows are old so it is noisy at night and in the morning. The living area has no windows so is dark and not a great place to hang out. It is up very steep steps with no elevator. This was not good for my elderly mother, I should have paid attention to the booking but didn’t notice that the steps were so steep. The rooms themselves were clean but the entry was piled with trash and the steps up were super dirty. I booked because it had two beds per room but there were only three beds and an air mattress. My son ended up sleeping on the couch.

I will start with great appreciation to Britany and her prompt communication and excellent service. Location is excellent and the place was clean. I had read on past reviews that there were a lot of stairs, which is true, so just know this can be a hike if you have much luggage to carry up. I am new to VRBO so was caught off guard by 10am checkout, but the host was reasonable and accomodating when I was a little late getting out, but they were knocking at 10am to start cleaning. Service definitely propped up the rating, there were a few areas I think could be improved. The room itself had very squeaky floors, top and bottom so it was pretty noisy and squeaky. Very loud parties coming from other rooms, so we had quiet hours but did others? Missing toilet paper holder, no towels in bathroom, and only one bathroom at the top of very steep stairs were noticed immediately. Heat worked well. Lack of deadbolt on combo lock door was unsettling, I doubt they change combos after each visit, so being able to lock the door is it important. Only 1 bathroom and only 1 table for 2. Since two full size beds mostly fill the lower room and the pullout couch would fill the kitchen area, moving around would be tough at capacity. Maybe it works for some, but I think the space could be inproved by dropping to 4 or 6 and gaining some free space in the lower room, or maybe get a full size table. Anyway, call it what it is, an amazing location and reasonable place to stay for a short visit.
